Welcome to Your Devotional Journey

This five-day devotional flows from the sermon "Living with Devotion." It is designed to help you move beyond simply hearing God's Word to actually living from it — day by day, in the ordinary moments of your life.

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42

The early believers did not begin with miracles or remarkable growth — they began with devotion. Over the next five days, you are invited to follow their example: to orient your heart, your attention, and your daily life toward the risen Jesus who lives in you.

How to Use This Devotional

  1. 1
Set aside a quiet time each day.

Find a consistent time and place — morning coffee, a lunch break, or the quiet before bed. Even 15–20 minutes of focused attention will make a difference over five days.

  2. 2
Read the Scripture slowly — more than once.

Don't rush past the verse. Let it sit with you. Read it aloud if it helps. Ask the Holy Spirit to make it alive to you personally.

  3. 3
Open each section at your own pace.

Each day includes an Explanation, a Personal Reflection, and a Personal Application. These build on each other. Click to open each one when you are ready.

  4. 4
    Write in the journaling space.

Each day includes a space for your personal reflections. Don't worry about writing perfectly — write honestly. God hears and honours every sincere word.

  5. 5
    Engage with the discussion questions.

These are for personal meditation or small group sharing. Use them to go deeper. Let them surface what God might be stirring in you.

  6. 6
Send your reflections to yourself or someone you trust.

At the bottom of each day, you can email your journal entry to yourself for review, or to a friend, spiritual director, or LIFE Group leader for accountability and encouragement.

May these five days draw you closer to the risen Jesus — and may His life overflow into everything you do. 🌱

Day One

Alive Because Jesus Lives

John 14:19

"Because I live, you also will live."

The resurrection of Jesus is not just something we believe — it is something we live from. Because Jesus is alive, our lives are no longer defined by sin, fear, or self-reliance. A new kind of life is now possible. The early believers in Acts 2 lived differently because they truly believed this reality. Their devotion was not forced; it flowed from the life of Jesus within them. The goal is not to become better through effort, but to become new through the power of the risen Christ.

Sometimes I still live as if Jesus were distant or inactive. I fall back into old patterns of thinking and living. But this truth reminds me that Jesus is not only alive — He is alive in me.

Today, choose to live consciously aware that Jesus is alive in you. Let this truth shape your attitude, your decisions, and your expectations. You are not alone. You are not powerless. His life is now your life.

Day Two

A Life of Devotion

Acts 2:42

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

A devoted life is the starting point of a transformed life. The early church did not begin with miracles or growth — they began with devotion. Devotion is not about rules; it is about direction. It is a steady orientation of your life toward God. This kind of life is intentional, personal, and internal, made possible by the risen Jesus living within us.

I often think of devotion as something I need to add to my life, rather than something that should shape my life. I see how easily distractions take priority over what truly matters.

Ask yourself today: What is my life truly centered on? Begin to realign your heart toward Jesus — not out of pressure, but in response to His life in you.

Day Three

Shaped by the Gospel

Matthew 4:4

"Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

The early believers devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching because they wanted to be shaped by truth. The Gospel was not just information — it was transformation. Today, we have the complete Word of God, and the Holy Spirit helps us understand it. But we must choose to go deeper. We cannot be content with shallow understanding. God invites us to grow in knowing His truth so our lives can be anchored in Him.

There are times when I rely more on my feelings or circumstances than on God's Word. I realize how much I need to be grounded in truth.

Take time today to read and reflect on Scripture. Don't rush. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you into truth and allow God's Word to shape your thinking and decisions.

Day Four

Living in True Community

1 Peter 1:22

"Love one another deeply, from the heart."

Because Jesus is alive, a new kind of community is possible. The early church was not just a gathering of individuals — they were a family. Barriers were broken, and people from different backgrounds were united by the Spirit. This kind of love and unity was unheard of before the resurrection. Devotion to one another is now possible because Jesus heals hearts and enables us to love deeply.

I sometimes keep relationships at a surface level. Fear, past hurt, or busyness can keep me from truly connecting with others.

Ask God to help you take one step toward deeper connection. Be open, be present, and allow the Spirit to work in your relationships.

Day Five

Experiencing His Presence and Power

Matthew 18:20

"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."

The early believers devoted themselves to the breaking of bread and prayer because they longed to experience Jesus' presence and power. Their gatherings were not routine — they were encounters with the living Christ. Because Jesus is alive, He is present with His people today. Our gatherings can become celebrations where we experience freedom, healing, and transformation.

There are times when I approach worship or prayer casually, without expectation. I forget that Jesus is truly present.

Today, approach God with expectation. Whether you are alone or with others, believe that Jesus is present and at work. Open your heart to encounter Him.
